The rear diff still uses the same differential gear oil (G 052 145). The 0B1 and 0B2 with <200hp engines use G 052 532 "MTF gear oil".

I read a study a while back where a guy pulled samples every 1,000 miles and sent them to Blackstone Lab for analysis and the consensus was that Mobil 1 went 15,000 miles before needing changed. The Audi interval is 10,000 miles or 1 year so you will be fine with a yearly change on a low mileage car.

OK, a very brief reply: No reported case on excessive engine oil consumption on the newer A6 (1.8T & 2.0T) so far, and the gearbox is 7 speed wet clutch DCT, which is not related to the infamous gearbox issue faced by owner with the older 7 speed dry clutch DSG.

Yes buying the Liveguard fluid is expensive, but not as expensive as a transmission swap. If you break it down, $250.00 for fluid, filter and gasket over 60,000 miles, really isn't that bad.
